Be alerted if data is not as expected

Is it possible to be alerted during a Power Query, at runtime, if data is not as expected?  (e.g. if there are 200 rows instead than 100 in the source)

Power Query is not designed to provide any sort of message. You can though populate a column or a cell/record with the error message if needed through the use of M statements.

Oh, so what other tools do you use to check integrity of the data given to Power Query?

If you can describe your data source (if this is Excel, then VBA can be an option) and scenarios (like row count) which you want to check, that would help me to think about a solution.

Sources are some CSV or XLSX files.
I'd like to receive an alert if any of some checks on data fails.

Examples of checks:
- number of rows is between 100 and 200, otherwise alert me
- numeric values in column "amount" are between 0 and 100000, otherwise alert me
- under the titles, valid rows ends at the first empty row. After this first empty row, there are only rows full of garbage notes to be ignored. If numbers are found in the "amount" column of this garbage zone, alert me  (suspected valid lines)
