Auto refresh of Non DirectQuery datasources

I have my data in Azure sql that I am connecting using DirectQuery. However I lose other features like Cortana integration.

What is the recommended way to refresh data periodically to powebi report if it is not connected with DirectQuery and what are the steps involved?

If you have your dataset created for Azure SQL then you should be able to click on the ellipses for the dataset and set the refresh schedule. "Schedule refresh"
