Auto refresh dataset without gateway

Hi All,

I have create the dataset but when dataset want to refresh always need the local computer which hold the gateway must online. I check the dataset in PowerBi Desktop, all the data source needed for that dataset is on cloud.

So i have question are:

Q1: If I remove the dataset, can be auto refresh without gateway since all data on cloud? 

Q2: And how to remove the existing gateway from dataset.

What, specifically, are the data sources? If you are using some custom ODBC connector to a FoxPro database, for example, it doesn't matter that the FoxPro database is sitting in Azure, for example, you would still need the gateway.

Thanks you for ur comment. Yes I used MySql connector to AWS server so still need to have gateway ? The next question is can we put gateway into azure? or we must create virtual machine in azure just for PowerBI gateway?
