Add date column w/o adding blanks

I am adding a custom column that returns todays date. 

The spreadsheet this query is based off of in in table format, and has about 50000 rows, because its easier for the people using it. 

They add new rows daily and fill in blanks. 

I added a custom column that always returns todays date, for updating purposes after merge. But its filled in the date on all of the blank rows. When I "remove blank rows" these are not removed. Any ideas?

DateTime.Date(DateTime.LocalNow())  is the date column formula. and Ive tried using the "remove blank rows" option in the ribbon.

Solved w/ filter. Added filter to filter out rows in that column that equalled null
