Access document libraries in SharePoint Team Sites

The new SharePoint Team Sites ( in Get Data / Files ) allows me to access document folders at the root level SharePoint site ...which is great btw. But why can I not browse to document libraries at sub sites?
eg. I can see all document libraries under https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/ but nothing that would allow me to browse to document libararies under https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/sites/projects/. How can I access those?

My guess would be that this is coming. The "Connect" button on the right is currently greyed out, so I am guessing that eventually this will allow you to put in a specific URL to connect to sort of like how the Desktop works.

I wish, but the Connect button becomes enabled once you select an Excel workbook.
