Hi,
When I make a change in PowerBi query editor, for example: count rows of a column, filter a column, it is extremely slow.
It takes hours to do that.
Why is that and how can I speed up?
My table has +- 250.00 rows and has 11 columns. I didn't make any changes so far to this model.
The API has a max of 100 records per page, but I changed the advanced editor so that all the records comes in 1 table.
My system is 12th generation i7 with 40GB of RAM.
Oh I also have a model from SQL and this one has millions of rows with many Applied steps etc etc, but no problem at all.
Anyone a suggestion?
Your API may be artificially slowing you down because of too many requests.
For testing use a local copy of the data. In production experiment with parallel queries.
@lbendlin with a local copy, it's much faster. What do you mean with "parallel queries"?
Instead of running one query for "250" rows run five separate queries for "50" rows each.
Numbers in air quotes as that seems like a very low API limit to start with
