Hi, I setted up a on premise data gateway and also created 2 conections to a database in SQL (I use SQL Server Express and SSMS). The conections I created was base on windows and basic authentication. The problem is when I created a copy activity in pipeline I filled with the requested fields it shows the following message:
"Please check your network connectivity to ensure your on-premises data gateway can access eu2.frontend.clouddatahub.net and restart the service to retry the connection again once the connectivity issue has been resolved."
I appreciate if someone can help me. Thanks.

It seemed that I had to add a ninbound rule in my firewall to the port 443.
Now I can connect.
Thank you for your help.
Hello,
I faced the same issue but it fixed. Issue was not related to network but message will misleading. I just updated onprem gateway and everything working fine again.
Last gateway version was Aug 2024 and update version Spetmeber 2025.
Hi @ErnestoRodri, could you please provide us some more information on the connection you are trying to make. Is the on-premise server you are connecting to allowed to go to other internet addresses (such as eu2.frontend.clouddatahub.net)? And it looks like you are trying to connect to a cloud data source, why do you need an on-premise connection for this?
Hi @FabianSchut , I'm just trying to practice and learn Fabric. I don't know if my on-premise server is allowed to got to other internet addresses (how can I check it?), my server is my own computer where I installed a SQL Server Express. I have a test DB and I was trying to create a pipeline to connect that DB and copy the data in a datalakehouse.
Since it is your own server, I assume that the server is allowed to go to other internet addresses. Could you share some more information about the connection settings you are setting up?
It seemed that I had to add a ninbound rule in my firewall to the port 443.
Now I can connect.
Thank you for your help.
Hi @ErnestoRodri,
I'm glad to hear that your problem was resolved. I'm sure it will help other users on the forum.
Can you mark the correct answer as a standard answer to help other members find it faster? Thank you very much for your kind cooperation!
