Publishing a new corporate mobile app containing a shortcut to PowerBI dashboard
Dear Colleagues,
We want to push the PowerBI dashboard to a group of company owned mobile devices as a shortcut. Mobile devices are managed via Intune (Company portal).
In order to push them we want to push not an app but a shortcut containing the hyperlink to the PowerBI dashboard.
We found a way to generate a direct link to PowerBI mobile app which will avoid redirect through Edge.
The reason why we wanted it is because for some test users who have non-updated Edge, the redirect wasn't working properly.
Direct link was generated in the form mspbi://app/OpenReport?ReportObjectId=XXXXXXX&GroupObjectId=XXXXXXXX like advised in this Microsoft article.
However it appeared that we cannot use this link when publishing a new app within Company portal and we receive the error "Enter a valid url beginning with http:// or https://"
Does someone know how we can overcome this hurdle?

Hey @JohnyOhYeah ,
Can you check if your mobile broswer is set to desktop browsing?
Tap the three-dot menu at the top right and check if "Desktop site" is enabled. If so disable it.

hey @JohnyOhYeah ,
Is this URL template not working properly for you? can you please explain what is broken?
http://app.powerbi.com/Redirect?[QUERYPARAMETERS]
Can you try using standard univeresal link (copied from the address bar)? it suppose to open the report in a browser with a button to open with the app, and once a user selects this option, the device will know to use the app the next time a same URL is selected.

Dear Maya,
For some reason this default link you suggested doesn't work on Android device. I mean it doesn't suggest the option to open PowerBI mobile app, just opens the link in browser desktop mode with small icons on the dashboard

Hi @JohnyOhYeah ,
Thanks for reaching out the community.
Where did you take the screenshot? I'm not too familiar with the interface of your screenshot.
mspbi://app/... link is used to jump to Power BI Mobile Apps on your mobile device.
But judging from your error message, your address bar only supports URLs that start with http:// or https://.
Best Regards,
Stephen Tao
