Using Pipelines Across Tenants in Microsoft Fabric

I have a scenario where I am working with two separate tenants in Microsoft Fabric. I want to know if it is possible to execute a pipeline across these tenants.

For example, if I have Pipeline A in Tenant 1, can I trigger or execute or use Pipeline A (or an equivalent pipeline) in Tenant 2?

If yes, what would be the best approach to achieve this? Are there any built-in capabilities, workarounds, or best practices for cross-tenant pipeline execution?

Any insights or guidance would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Hi @bhavya5903

Running pipeliines across different tenants in Fabric can be diffiicult bcz of the restrictions set by tenant boundaries.

  • By using Rest API approch it should possible. use a Service Principal with permissions in both tenants and programmatically invokee Dataflows in the client’s tenant using API endpoints.

Hi @bhavya5903 ,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Fabric Community.

I wanted to check if you had the opportunity to review the information provided by @suparnababu8 , executing pipelines across different tenants in Microsoft Fabric is challenging due to tenant isolation, but it can be achieved using the REST API approach with a Service Principal. Microsoft Fabric enforces strict tenant boundaries, meaning direct execution across tenants is not possible. By using Service Principal authentication, you can obtain an OAuth token and trigger a pipeline in Tenant 2 from Tenant 1 via API calls.
