How to Convert PST to EML Files?

There are two ways to convert PST files to EML files

Method 1: Manual Method (Using Outlook & Windows Live Mail)

You can use Windows Live Mail and Microsoft Outlook to manually convert PST emails to EML format. Take these actions:

Steps:

1. On your PC, launch Windows Live Mail and Microsoft Outlook.
2. Go to File > Import Messages in Windows Live Mail.
3. After selecting Microsoft Outlook, click Next.
4. Outlook will be detected during the import process. Press Next.
5. Either pick All folders or pick the folders you wish to import.
6. When the process is complete, click Finish.
7. Next, navigate to the storage folder for Windows Live Mail:
8. [YourName]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\ C:\Users\ Live Mail on Windows
9. All emails will be stored in an .eml file.

Limitations:

• Need Windows Live Mail in addition to Outlook.
• Switching takes a long time for large PST files.
• There is no way to quickly filter or choose particular emails.

Users can convert their Outlook PST files into EML file formats in various ways. Here is below I mentioned the two best strategies to complete the process.

Method 1: Using Microsoft Outlook (Manual Method)

1. Open Microsoft Outlook and load the PST file.
2. Select the Emails you want to convert.
3. Drag and Drop to a Folder
   • Create a new folder on your desktop.
   • Drag the selected emails from Outlook to this folder.
   • Outlook will save them as MSG files.
4. Convert MSG to EML
   • Rename MSG files to  EML
   • Open in Thunderbird and export as EML.

Method 2: Using an Expert Tool

A third-party tool like PST to EML Converter by Softaken Software. This expert program easily converts your entire EML files into Outlook PST format in just a few simple steps.

1. Install and Run the program
2. Browse and add the PST files
3. Take a preview of the added data
