Communications on default checkbox changes on tenant settings and billing start for SQL database

We have received multiple notifications regarding the addition of a checkbox to the SQL Database tenant setting in Fabric:

• [Power BI] Communications on default checkbox changes on tenant settings and billing start for SQL database in Fabric [MC996579]

• [Power BI] Updates on default checkbox changes on tenant settings for SQL database in Fabric [MC1034584]

The expected change to the tenant is also detailed in this blog post:

This is important for us to be able to manage this setting and have it off by default. However the additional checkbox has still not appeared in our tenant, so we are unsure if the setting is going to be enabled/disabled by default on 28 March.

Is there any update on this? When can we expect the checkbox, or do we just need to keep checking daily to make sure this is not enabled?

Hello Anjan,

I have reached out to support for clarification, but the issue remains unresolved. We have still not got the checkbox to indicate our preference for the SQL Database option in our tenant, nor an explanation from Microsoft regarding why this is.

The setting is due to be enabled in four days, and I am unsure what will happen on this day.

i just checked this is missing for us as well.

The checkbox update for SQL Database tenant settings in Microsoft Fabric was scheduled to be introduced on February 8, 2025, allowing tenant admins to configure the default behavior of SQL database enablement. The default setting was planned to be off for the entire organization, but if no action was taken by admins, the setting would automatically switch to on starting March 8, 2025.

I would recommend If the checkbox remains unavailable, contact Microsoft support for clarification and assistance.
