Cannot access a DataFlow Gen2 in order to Take Over

I and my co-worker are both Admins in a Fabric Workspace (currently Free Capacity but I doubt that matters).

She worked on, but never completed a DataFlow Gen2. The most recent run ended in an error.

I would like to take up where she left off. I click on the elipsis, then Settings.

The DataFlow in question is NOT listed there. I see all the others, but NOT this one.

A) Is this because it last ended with an error (by design?)

or

B) Is this a BUG?

Hi @ToddChitt ,

Thank you for posting in the Microsoft Fabric Community.

We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. I understand you're having trouble accessing Dataflow Gen2 and can't proceed after an error. To get this issue resolved, we suggest raising a support ticket through the official Microsoft Fabric support as menationed by @lbendlin .

In the meantime, as a potential workaround, you could try having your coworker temporarily resolve the error in the Dataflow. If they can get it to run successfully, it might reappear in the settings and allow you to take ownership. Additionally, if possible, try to obtain the direct URL for the Dataflow, as this might allow you to access it directly.

If this post helps, then please give us Kudos and consider Accept it as a solution to help the other members find it more quickly.

Thankyou.

Thank you.

I read that post. While I very much appreciate your quick response, it does not really apply. Both of us know how to "Take over" a DataFlow. We have been taking over each other's DataFlows before. (Side note, I think this is a mistake on the part of Microsoft that a DataFlow is 'owned' by a USER and NOT the Workspace in general, like other artifact types, but here we are.)

The problem is that I see 11 DataFlows in the Folder in the Workspace. I click on the elipsis next to one and select Settings. That also lists the DataFlows in that folder, but it only lists 10. Missing in that list is the one DataFlow that ended in an error.

My co-worker has since fixed the error, and I can now see (and Take Over) said DataFlow from Settings.

I see this as a BUG!

Suppose my co-worker edits a DataFlow in such a way as to make it unavailable for me, then leaves the company. I have no way to take ownership of it back.
