createSelectionID - R Powered Custom Visual HTML

Hi there,

 

I created an R Powered Custom Visual using the nodejs method and imported the custom visual into Power BI successfully. Basically it is a hierarchy bar chart with three levels.

 

The problem I am having is it can’t interact with other visuals being a HTML custom visual. I know I should use createSelectionID and the selection manager but how do I reference the HTML custom visual? The programming is out of my league but am trying my best with the available resource (mostly referring to D3 visuals in Power BI).

 

Any ideas on how I can implement this?
