Creating a single date slicer as opposed to a range

I'm in the process of formatting visuals that show yearly data dating back to the 60s. 

I want a slicer at the top of my page that allows me to select a single year. Unfortunately it seems like the slicer is formatted to select a range and I was wondering if there was a way to have it move from year to year or perhaps limit the range so that it only shows one year at a time. Any help would be great.
