Write Query in Embedded Report or via API?

In PowerBI Desktop, I can edit a Query (in my case, I want to deserialize JSON in a dataset Record and make it available as columns in the Fields pane).

Is there anyway I can either

(a) push a Query to a Report or

(b) enable the user editing the embedded report to create a Query like you can in Desktop?

I don't there is any way to do it with Power BI Embedded currently. To improve Power BI on this feature, you can add it as an idea on Power BI Ideas forum.
