I've followed the following tutorial to be able to push data to Power BI through the API:
https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/documentation/powerbi-developer-walkthrough-push-data/
Is there any way for me to use that data in a report created through the desktop app (and ensure the published reports/dashboards get updated once I push more rows)?
I especially have a need for creating calculated columns and similar. I could of course add the columns myself through the API, would I like the flexibility provided by the desktop app.
After further googling I think I've come to the conclusion that this is not currently possible.
Unfortunately the online tool is way too limited, it's not even possible to create relationships. I'm dissapointed that I'm always ending up at stupid limitations when working on Power BI projects. The product is too incomplete and it has been years now since the release.
