Solutions for Data Alerts

I have a set of data of patient weights and calculated fields of percent changes over time (monthly, quarterly, etc.). I was wondering if there was any functionality available to have monthly notification emails sent whenever there is a specific percent change over a certain threashold, say 5%.

Yes, it is possible to set up notifications based on a specific percent change threshold in Power BI.

One way to achieve this is by using the "Data Alert" feature in Power BI. Here are the general steps you can follow to set up this notification:

  1. Open the Power BI report that contains the patient weight data.
  2. Click on the "View" tab in the ribbon at the top of the screen.
  3. Click on "Data Alert" in the "Alerts" section of the ribbon.
  4. Click on "New Alert" in the "Data Alert" pane that appears on the right side of the screen.
  5. In the "Create Alert" dialog box that appears, select the "Monthly" time period and the field that contains the percent change data.
  6. Set the threshold to 5%.
  7. Choose the delivery method for the notification, such as email.
  8. Specify the recipients of the notification email and any additional details such as the subject and body of the email.
  9. Save the alert.

Once the alert is set up, Power BI will monitor the data for any changes and send a notification email when the percent change exceeds the specified threshold.
