Rest API - Appointment Plus

Dear Community,

 

I don't have a lot of experience with API's and pulling in data so here is my current situation after researching on the internet.

System: Appointment Plus

API Documentation: https://s24400.pcdn.co/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/TechnicalGuide.pdf

 

I see that to pull in from an API I need to use the Web Connector in Power BI.

The URL I am pulling from: https://ws.appointment-plus.com/Locations/GetLocations

 

I see that I need to authenticate somehow. So I tried https://ws.appointment-plus.com/Locations/GetLocationsAuthorization:%20Basic%20USERNAME/PASSWORD

With my username and password in there but it is not working.

 

Would anyone be able to help me out with getting the https part to work?

after that I dont know how to connect it using PowerBI, how come support team didnt answer this?

you need a base64 encoder to encode the user id and pw, on their page:

 

Authorization

All requests require a Basic Auth header that contains the Base64-encoded string representing your username (site_id) and password (api_key) values as explained below.

Authorization: Basic < Base64-encode(site_id:api_key) >

Note that some tools like Postman can do this Base64-encoding for you automatically.

Example:

  • Username (site_id): appointplus321/436
  • Password (api_key): a1b2c3d4e5f6g7h8i9j0
  • Pair would be: appointplus321/436:a1b2c3d4e5f6g7h8i9j0
  • Auth Header would be: Basic YXBwb2ludHBsdXMzMjEvNDM2OmExYjJjM2Q0ZTVmNmc3aDhpOWow
