Remove an Extension ContextMenu

It's seems, once you add an extension menu, you cannot hide/remove/disable it.  I am wanting to add a context menu when a user selects a bar on a bar chart but then hide it when the user resets the chart so that all bars are highlighted, the context menu is no longer visible.

How can I remove it?

When I wish to add the context menu:

            let newSettings = {

               extensions: [

                {

                  command: {

                    name: "GotoParticipant",

                    title: "Open Participant",

                    extend: {

                      visualContextMenu: {

                        title: "Open Participant",

                      },

                    }

                  }

                } 

              ] 

            };

            embedded.updateSettings(newSettings);

When I wish to remove it:

        embedded.updateSettings({

          extensions: undefined

        });

Is this possible without reloading the report?
