I have connected to redshift sucessfully using Power Bi desktop. I now need to use this in a Power Bi environment.
Is this feature available yet? And if it is any help with connecting would be useful. Error message is:
Power BI Exploration Couldn't retrieve the data for this visual. Please try again later.
Thanks
Paul

Do you encounter this error when using the Power BI embedded?
Connecting to redshift is a preview feature in Power BI Desktop Jul's release. According to what I exprienced on preview features, most of them are implemented in Desktop only. I doubt this feature is not implemented in Power BI embeded yet. Meanwhile I don't find any content pack connecting to redshift in Power BI Service neither do I find any supported data source in gateways(if required to refresh redshift. I don't have much idea on redshift, it seems a cloud service and then a gateway is not needed). For whatever I am just trying to find anything on redshift on Power BI Service, but with no luck.
Could you try to publish the pbix to Power BI Service to see what happens? And the recommentation is not to apply a preview feature in your develpment, just wait for the GA release.
Hi,
Its not currently in the gatway list of data sources, thats a feature that would be amazing for our company. The Redshift driver is already made us move to Power BI.
Any idea when the full release is sheduled for?
thanks
This solution is still needed. See

https://powerbi.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/building-power-bi-reports-on-top-of-amazon-redshift-data/
This last article, dated Aug 1 2016, said the Redshift connector doesn't yet work for "Power BI Gateway or PowerBI.com for refresh scenarios, which will come in the next couple of months."

It's been six months since "a couple of months" was promised. Any news? This is a big issue for my application, where I need to do scheduled refreshing in the PBI service, just like any other database.
