Power BI Embedded - Start/Pause Capacity

Using Power BI embedded is an option for my use case, however we are in a proof-of-concept phase with the project in a startup. This means that unfortunately cost is a major consideration for us. The reports would likely be viewed a couple of times a month, without knowing specific times or dates. Im considering to start/pause the capacity so that I can control the costs -- ideally when the user opens the page were the report/tile lives.

Would this be a realistic option? Would the resource be activated within 30-60 seconds perhaps to ensure that there is not a (massive lag-time)?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @joonas-blip ,

As far as I know, there may be delays in restoring capacity and re accessing reports, which is mainly related to server and network bandwidth.

For reference:

Pause and start your Power BI Embedded capacity in the Azure portal

Rico Zhou
