I wrote a custom connector to pull couple of months data from Rest API. These api's limits the total records that can be pulled in a single api call.
When I connect to this custom connector from power bi desktop, I see that connector is actually making repetative api calls. First time it makes the api call when NavTable view is shown for preview. When I select the table and click on Load, again same api calls will be made by connector.
Since getting data from these apis is time consuming, custom connector is doing redudant calls at different levels will make the user experience just bad.
Any suggestions/help to optimize this process will be appreciated.
