Hi,
at the moment I can user Powershell to run the GetUserArtifactAccessAsAdmin API to get a list objects that an owner users so that when they leave we can reassign them
But I want to put this into an automation process
1. Get a list of users with their Object IDs (In Azure) and check agains the old list. Who has left? Get that smaller list together for the next step.
2. Automate the running of the powershell script against each ID to get a list of objects that user owns
3. Transfer the ownership to a power BI Admin and create a report of this list (Need to think abut this because even doing this the report authentication will fail possibly. Can you automate this so you don't have anything fail at all and you dont have to manually update the credentials anywhere?)
Anyway Im looking at this as a tast and one that needs to be as automated as possible.
Does anyone have any ideas on where I can get started figuring this all out?
Hi @DebbieE ,
Based on my research, it it not possbile to change ownership of published report currently. PG has already started work on allowing Power BI Service Admins (and other Office 365 global admins) to add new users to existing personal or app workspaces. https://ideas.powerbi.com/ideas/idea/?ideaid=079a8365-de8e-404f-a8f0-e1d9ea2860d8
