Embedded Power BI report with ASP.NET

Hi All,

It is a new Power Bi project. We need to create and publish reports in Power BI and Power BI should be embedded with .NET.

Please let me know the steps to achieve this.

Hi @Kavya123 ,

According to your statement, I think your workflow is create reports ——> publish your report ——> embed your report by .NET.

1.

I suggest you to create a Power BI report by Power BI Desktop. It is an application for users to develop their reports.

You can download the latest version from this website link.

2.

Publish datasets and reports from Power BI Desktop

3.

Power BI embedded analytics offers two solutions:

If you embed for your organization, the users need to sign in to their Power BI account to see the Embedded Reports. All of them need Power BI license like Pro/PPU, or your report should be in P/EM SKU.

For reference:

Tutorial: Embed Power BI content using a sample embed for your organization application

If you embed for customers, the users don't need to sign in any more, they even don't need to be Power BI Users.

For reference:

Embed Power BI content with service principal and an application secret

In above tutorial links, there are .NET Code, you can choose it and follow the steps to learn.

You can refer to this offical blog to learn more which license or capcaity you need for the Power BI Embed method your choose.

You could also consider using a plug 'n' play white label solution like the Reporting Hub:  https://thereportinghub.com.  Deploys in minutes and no code required.   It allows you to take advantage of Power BI Embedded without the complexity.  It will also programatically manage your capacity so you only pay for what you use.
