Custom Visual

Is it possible to create a visual something like below in Power BI .

Red Line is country China

Blue line for India

Dark blue for Poland

The numbers are for 5 categories which are plotted against the color coding . If the category RAG is Green color then plot it in Green color background . If the RAG for that country and categorty is Amber plot it against Abmber backround .

Hi @nish18_1990 ,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft fabric community forum.

Could you please provide sample data that fully represents the issue or question you're referring to? Kindly ensure the data is in a usable format (e.g., Excel or CSV) rather than a screenshot, and does not contain any sensitive or unrelated information.

Looking forward to your response.

Best regards,
Lakshmi

Hi @nish18_1990 ,

Apologies for the delayed response.

I've uploaded the sample PBIX file  The current approach is working to some extent, but it's still more of a workaround rather than a complete solution.

Could you please take a look and share your feedback?

Best regards,
Lakshmi

Can we achieve something like the visual i shared . The range should be against the category . The category in the image is in left hand side and the numbers are plotted against the category based on the colors and the background colors

 Hi @nish18_1990 ,

Thanks for the follow-up question. Below is a workaround

Stacked Area Chart with Transparent Layers

If you prefer native visuals

  • Create a stacked area chart with transparent fills.
  • Use conditional formatting or layered shapes to simulate background color bands.
  • You’ll need to pre-process the RAG status into a separate layer or use bookmarks/shapes creatively.

Limitations

  • Harder to control background shading per category.
  • Axis orientation may be less intuitive.

Lakshmi .
