Hello everyone,
I'm using a custom date filtering solution, based on this post: https://bielite.com/blog/custom-date-period-power-bi/
In short, I have two date filters:
1- With predefined periods (current month, previous month, year-to-date, etc.)
2- With custom selection
Filter 2 is only enabled when the "Custom" option is selected in filter 1. When clicking on the other predefined options, filter 2 is disabled (more details in the link mentioned above).
I would like to know if there is any way to block the other predefined period buttons when clicking on "Custom", and re-enable them when clicking on a button or activating a function. Is this possible?
Has anyone ever come across something similar?

The best way to deal with that is to prepare a couple of mockups (with buttons, without buttons, with slicers, without slicers), to conduct a user training on how to use the filter pane, and then to do usability studies with all versions. Your users will show you what they prefer.
I wanted to check if you had the opportunity to review the information provided. Please feel free to contact us if you have any further questions. If my response has addressed your query, please accept it as a solution and give a 'Kudos' so other members can easily find it.
Thank you.
May I ask if you have resolved this issue? If so, please mark the helpful reply and accept it as the solution. This will be helpful for other community members who have similar problems to solve it faster.

What is your goal? Do you want to streamline the user experience so there are fewer clicks between the users and the insights, or do you want to spend time and energy on treating them like toddlers and telling them what they can and cannot do?
In this case, I need a block, since filter 2 (customizable) limits the date range when used, interfering with the correct action of the predefined buttons.
e.g.: if I filter a period equivalent to the previous year in filter 2, the "Last month" button in filter 1 (predefined) does not work, the last month is outside the range already filtered from the previous year.
What I'm looking for is a way to reset the customizable filter so I can go back to using the predefined filter.
If you are a master in user experience, please indicate the best way to deal with this case or another solution for using a date filter combining predefined and customized periods.
