Create a visual using multiple tables?

Hi all!

In my case, I have to create a visual showing the content of multiple, unconnected tables. How do I have to write dataViewMappings to achieve that?

For simplicity, let's assume the number of tables and the number and kind of columns is fixed (e.g. take a sales timeline from table A, customer billing dates from table B and show them on a common time axis).

Hope for help,

. Jörg

@TheHerkules,

You may use ADDCOLUMNS Function to add a calculated column to distinguish data from multiple tables. As for dataViewMappings, it is also a great challenge to me.

@TheHerkules,

You may consider using UNION Function in DAX to create a new table.

@v-chuncz-msft thank you for your quick response.

Does it mean accessing multiple tables is not possible?

In case of a union, how can I distinguish which value comes from where when displaying the two time axes? Can I do a union even in case the tables have no columns in common?

How would the dataViewMappings would look like in that case? Categorial? Table? Matrix? (BTW, is there some documentation about 'matrix' somewhere?)

Thank you again,

. Jörg
