I'm trying to connect to an API with this documentation, but I keep receiving an error stating "A web API key can only be specified when a web API key name is provided."
Does anyone have any experieince with this?
I'm using Power Query (via Excel). I tried the Access Web Content menu and then clicked on the API Key option.
Hi @BobS4P
Try Web.connect function in Power Query to connet to API.
From this blog, I think you can try this way to solve the issue.
Step3: In the Access web content dialog, select Basic, enter your app's API key as the Username, and press Connect. This will open the Power BI Query Editor.
Here are some same issues like yours and I hope they could help you.
Issue1: Get data from web error: A web API key can only be specified when a web API key name is provided
Issue2: Connect to restful api data source multiple times
You may refer to this blog:Working with Web Services in Power Query to connect to API by Power Query.
