Authentification error on Gateway

Hello,
We are using the pro trial version of power bi. Our data comes from sql server with queries and excel. I installed the gateway's personnel and entreprise mode on my computer. I am connecting to the server remotely. I'm getting data with ip. Excel files are on my computer. When i use gateway entreprise, Power BI service does not update and gives an error. I guess it doesn't accept my username and password. Don't we enter our username and password that we used when setting up the gateway here? Why doesn't he accept?

However, when using the gateway in personnel mode, it updates the excel files on my computer. but it does not update the database on the server remote.

I would be glad if you help. Thank you

Hi @ict ,

This issue is caused by the credentials of your data source.

It seems that you are using the username and password of your gateway?

When setting the datasource: select an Authentication Method to use when connecting to the data source. For SQL Server, choose Windows or Basic (SQL Authentication). Enter the credentials for your data source.

Note: If the selected authentication method is OAuth:

  • Any query that runs longer than the OAuth token expiration policy may fail.
  • Cross-tenant AAD accounts are not supported If the selected authentication method is Windows:
  • Make sure that account has access on the machine. If not sure, make sure to add NT-AUTHORITY\Authenticated Users (S-1-5-11) to the local machine “Users” group.
