Hi All,
As the subject suggests, I've embedded some PBI report pages into a powerpoint presentation using the Storytelling add-in, and the performance leaves a whole lot to be desired.
The setup is that I've taken 9 separate Power BI report pages and created a slide for each. To insert each report page into the PPT, I pasted the "Embed Live Data" link in from the Power BI online page. This results in the pages loading in Powerpoint, but the load is quite slow (30 seconds plus), and then when i start trying to filter through the visual interactions it is also VERY slow-going (also 30 seconds plus). There are no such performance issues when I am loading, filtering, etc. directly from the Power BI online page.
Is this typical, or am I doing something wrong? Any advice would be much appreciated.
Thank you for your reply. I've confirmed that my internet speed is fine, so that isn't the issue. After playing around with it some more, it seems that the slides with more visuals and the visuals with more data elements (i.e. stacked bar charts) tend to be what slows things down. I still find it strange that the performance issue does not apply when in PBI Service.
Hi @PBINovice123 ,
This issue generally occurs when your internet is slow. Have you checked your internet speed? Sometimes other websites loader faster. Will these reports' load time be reduced when you remove some of the report pages from the PPT?
Besides, you can have a try:
Publish your report to web and then use the Web Viewer in PowerPoint.
Or consider about PowerBI Tiles , PowerBI Tiles Pro. Hope it can helps you.
Best Regards,
Jianbo Li
