Add Visual As Tile on Dashboard via API

I want to add a visual to a dashboard I have created via the API. I want to effectively let users pin visuals to a personal dashboard within our application

I can clone existing tiles from other dashboards to the new dashboard. However, I don't seem to be able to get Clone Tile to work with visuals from reports?

Any ideas on how to do this? I assumed once I was creating dashboards there would be an API call to simply let me add new tiles from visuals. However, I just don't seem to be able to find the correct API.

Given the state of the User voice backlog, it seems almost impossible to locate whether this item exists already.

I appreciate MS probably expect me to champion a request to get some votes but I can only assume there is an existing request that covers this? Why is there such a divergence between what the portal can do and what embedded to do? I thought the aim of the new embedded was a consolated API that exposed the portal functionality in an embedded format?
