I have a field called payment bucket that I calculate in SQL. When I drop ot into PowerBI it sorts it in the correct alphabetical order.
a) <-16 come first
then
b) -11 to -15
and so on
Now I calculated the same field but using the Grouping capability of Power BI.
When i drop this into the same chart the axis is in reverse alphabetical order:
k) 16+
j) 11 to 15
and so on. Why is this and how do I fix it?

Ah I figured it out. For anyone searching - in the top right of the chart after clicking on ...
instead of clicking on the text portion that says 'Sort by ...' move the mouse cursor a little to the left and click on the Z->A to change the ordering.
Wasn't immediately obvious that this was a distinct place to click on.
