Hi , @michaelag

According to your description, you want to find a measure to calculate Grand total of another measure.

Here are the steps you can refer to :
(1)This is my test data :

(2)I create  a measure like you :

Hours Measure = SUM('Table'[Hours])

(3)Then we can create another measure , in the summarize() funtion, you need to update the dimension according to the fields you put on the visual:

Total = var _t =ADDCOLUMNS( SUMMARIZE(ALLSELECTED('Table'),'Table'[Category],'Table'[Salary],'Table'[Sub-category]) , "Hours Measure" , [Hours Measure])
return
SUMX(_t , [Hours Measure])

(4)Then we can meet your need, the result is as follows:

Hi Aniya

the problem I have is that the Hours is already a measure not something that lives in a table so I can't quite aggreagate that way.

Hi , @michaelag
