published report date slicer format changed to American from EU
Hi, my colleague tried to use one of reports that I published.
And for some reason all dates had changed to American format for him.
For me all dates are in EU format before or after publishing report.
I asked other colleagues to check and they do not have that problem.
I tried to do some format settings that only fixed only some of the problems.
Now dates in visuals are showing as EU format but date slicer is still in American format.
It partialy fixed according to him after he cleared browser cache.
Anyone know what could be the problem.

hi @Justas4478 ,
This issue is most likely caused by regional settings in Power BI Service, your colleague's web browser, or their Windows system settings. Since clearing the browser cache partially fixed the problem, it indicates that cached settings were influencing how the dates were displayed.
Here are some possible reasons and solutions:
1. Power BI Service Regional Settings
Power BI Service uses the language and regional settings of the logged-in user. Your colleague should check:
- Click on their profile picture in Power BI Service (top right).
- Select Settings > General.
- Under Language and regional settings, ensure the Format is set to the correct region (e.g., "English (United Kingdom)" for EU date format).
- Save and refresh the report.
2. Browser Language Settings
If the report is viewed in a browser, Power BI Service may use the browser's language settings:
- In Chrome, go to chrome://settings/languages and ensure the preferred language is set to an EU language.
- In Edge, go to Settings > Languages and check the same.
- Restart the browser after making changes.
3. Windows Regional Settings
If Power BI Desktop is used before publishing, Windows regional settings may also affect the data format:
- Go to Control Panel > Region and check that the format is set to an EU format (e.g., "English (United Kingdom)" or another EU locale).
4. Power BI Desktop File Settings
Check the Modeling tab in Power BI Desktop:
- Ensure date columns are formatted correctly under Data type.
- Check File Options:
- Go to Options > Current File > Regional Settings.
- Set it to an EU region before publishing.
5. Clear Browser Cache and Cookies Again
Since clearing the cache helped partially, it might be necessary to do a full clear:
- In Chrome/Edge, go to Settings > Privacy & security > Clear browsing data.
- Select Cached images and files and Cookies.
- Restart the browser.
6. Check the Dataset’s Locale in Power BI Service
If the dataset is stored in Power BI Service, check the Data Source Settings:
- Go to the dataset in the Power BI Service.
- Open the Settings.
- Check if there are any locale settings that might be causing the issue.
