Hi everyone,
I'm still learning Power BI and the data warehouse concepts, I have a problem with a scheme with multiple fact tables.
I have to create different dashboards that represent simultaneously, but at different objects, the data from different fact tables.
when I have only one fact table I can use the two-way relationship and the possible values of the dimension tables is reduced automatically
in low to the selections that I do, this is not possible with multiple fact tables because the system tells me of conflicts and forces me to single.
How should I proceed? I decided to create a crossjoin table between the size and connect it to the facts, in this way I would not have circular relationships.
can you help me?
In your scenario, your Accounting dimension has two path to the Payroll fact table. One via Time dimension, the other via Office dimension. This makes the circular relationships. So you need to make either the relationship to Time dimension or Office dimension "inactive".
Regards,
Hi, thank you for the answer but in doing so I would lose the ability to filter the data. I can not create a single fact table (the data are completely different for granularity and for specificity of the data itself). What is the best solution? Create a Crossjoin table from the dimensions and place it at the center of the diagram, tying the fact tables to this new table?
