maintaining selected filter after reset

hi,

i have created few drillthrough reports that are based on selected filters such as the following-

. select region (example, east)

. then select total income

. then month (example, july)

. drillthrough selected income item (example, sales)

i managed to get the desired report for sales in jul for the east region.

i wish to create a reset (using a button image) to display sales data for all months for the selected east region only. currently, i couldn't get the data for the east region only as it listed sales data for all other regions (instead for just the east region) for all months instead. i think it's because i set it to refer it to a bookmark for sales data for all other regions for all month. please advise on how to set the bookmark correctly for sales data for all months for any selected region.

tks, -nik

Hi @Anonymous ,

I recreated a bookmark and checked the data option, which was as expected

many tks, @V-lianl-msft.

i downloaded the file & tried to do the drillthroughs from there.

it seems to be working only for 1 region but not for another. when i did a drillthough for 'north' region & subsequently reset on 'north' region bookmarked report/page, it'd bring back all data for the 'west' region.

hope to find a solution to this.

Hi @Anonymous ,

After many attempts, the slicer options cannot be dynamically saved to the bookmark. The bookmark records the status of the chart at that time, which is static.

i note your response with tks, @V-lianl-msft.

i guess so regarding the reset going to a bookmarked a static report.

i wonder if there's any other solution to resetting with certain filters being maintained as you drillthrough.

krgds, -nik

@Anonymous it is very hard to provide a solution without looking at it, if you can put some sample pbix together bookmarks etc, I can review it.

tks again, @parry2k.

having unchecked the data in the bookmark menu, i'm getting just a single line of data i.e. the sales for the east region for the selected month (i.e not for all other months).

can i safely assume that there's no way of getting the sales data for the selected east region for all months from the reset? if yes, then i hv to accept this & inform my client too. if there's still a way, i'd appreciate your advice.

@Anonymous add region slicer on bookmark page and sync it with your main page and make it invisible. so behind the scene when you reset the bookmark page, sync slicer from the main page will force the east region. Try something on these lines and I'm sure it will work out.

tks, @parry2k.

i tried that but when i clicked on the reset button-image, it still reset all except for the selected drilled item (i.e. sales). thus, i'm still getting sales for all months & all region on the bookmarked page even with the region slicer being synced to the main page.

kindly assist.

tks, -nik
