line chart max line problem

Hi experts,

I've got simple dataset with 198990 (+ 1 header) lines (VMware vROps export showing CPU usage across 99 VMs for the past 7 days sampled each 5 minutes).

I am using line chart to display the data. Visually, the peaks are at around 35%. When I add the 'max line' from analytics, it shows value of 46.81%. Which IS the highest individual value of CPU usage when inspecting the dataset manually.

With this dataset I get the 'i' notification within visual telling me about binning the data.

No matter if I turn the high-density sampling on or off, the max line is floating way above any charted peak.

The way I understood the binning process, this should not be happening.

How (if at all) can this be fixed? Is this a bug in the visual?

Peter

hi @Anonymous

I think that there is a relatively low limit on the number of data points that will be displayed. When it hits this you do get strange results.

Thanks @gooranga1. I've checked the data further and there was just one value of such peak, not 'surrounded' by such a high values. So it was indeed 'hidden' in the amounts of data processed.
