is(isblank) function

i had below DAX, but its not working.  i've created a new column "company", company = "No" if account have no value otherwise "yes". 

Company = if(ISBLANK('RER 2016'[Account]),"No", "Yes")

but as result, the company column are now all "yes"

Hi @Anonymous,

I would suggest creating the column in the query editor.

In doing so you can use the TRIM function to ensure that there are no leading or trailing spaces.

You can then also potentially use the Captilize Each Word, or Lowercase to ensure that all the values are the same (NOTE: The data in the Query Editor is Case Sensitive)

You can then add a conditional column, which will then load into your Model.

As well as not only will your model be more efficient, but it is also easier to create the columns in the Query Editor.

Follow the steps in the Picture - In the Query Editor

Transform tab - Format button - Clean - Format button - Trim

Transform tab - Replace Values - 1st field leave empty and 2nd field type null - OK

Home tab - Close & Apply

You probably have an empty space in the column rather than a blank()

try

Company = if(ISBLANK('RER 2016'[Account]) || 'RER 2016'[Account]=""  ,"No", "Yes")
