Hello,
I would like to use the gantt chart to plot the project timeline. Howerver some projects span more than 5 years. That make the gantt chart really long if I choose the date type as "Month". I don't want to choose date type as "year" because it doesn't give enough detail for shorter projects. How can I display the chart as "Quarter"?
Thanks for your help.
Hello? Anyone out there? Any creative solution? 🙂
Download a DateStream from Azure Marketplace. Then create a relationship between the date and the datekey on the calendar table.
I would suggest to use date hierarchy as your X-Axis(Category) and you can definitly drill to Quarter level. This will give users more flexibility to drill to Month and Quarter level based on project timeline.
P.S You can remove Year and Day from hierarchy if you want.
Thanks Habib, for your advice. I attempted to try your suggestion. However, I'm a noob :)...
Here what I did:
I drag my Project field to "Task"
my Start Date field to "Start Date"
My "Duration" calc (End date - Start Date") to "Duration"
Then in the "Start Date" dropdown, I choose "Date Hierarchy"
All the gantt chart now display start at the same period (Today date). Any thing to the left of this period is not display.
