create a new table or not

Hi,

I have a table with following data named custSales

customer code  date  amount  channel

In my report I have matrix visual showing the number of rows without channel detail. below is the measure I am using for that

number of rows = COUNTROWS(
    SUMMARIZE('custSales',[customer code],[date],"total amount",SUM(([amount])))
)

because the table is big, it takes time every time it loads, or change a slicer etc. but i can live with that. but still I am curious about what would be the best practice in this case regarding performace for the end user.

  1. use as is
  2. create a new table with the dax above, and then count the rows of that new table
  3. create the new table with power query
  4. get the data without channel from the source system (in this case go to source twice and get the same data with and w/o channel)

thank you very much for your time

@mehmetali , where are you checking channel is blank

Numbers of rows without channel details can be

COUNTROWS(filter(custSales , isblank(custSales[Channel]) ) )

Hi, thank you very much for quick return. i think a small sample data would be better.

customer code  date  amount  channel
c101.01.20221001
c102.01.20222502
c103.01.20221201
c103.01.20221452
c203.01.2022903

based on this data I want to return 4 as result.
