Hi all,
Not sure if i picked the right board for this problem.
I have a customer that has issues with analyse in Excel.
The datamodels are located on an Azure analysis server, but when i want to connect to this server with analyse with excel it gives me the error Host unknown. then we received the popup to connect to the analysis server and everything what we fill in is not working.
One thing maybe good to know, when i want to login to the BI server on azure i have to connect first to a stepping stone server and from that server to the BI server.
Anyone an idea?

Hi @jvanveelen ,
Since your server is on Azure, you should use the fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of your Azure SQL server. It typically looks like yourservername.database.windows.net.Use the credentials that you set up when you created the Azure SQL server. This usually includes the admin username and password.
Please check the link above.
Hope it helps!

Hi @jvanveelen ,
Ensure that you have the appropriate licenses for both Azure Analysis Services and the users trying to connect. Users typically need a Power BI Pro license or higher to use certain features.
If you're using an on-premises data gateway, make sure it is properly configured and that the gateway is up and running. The gateway should be able to connect to both the on-premises data source and Azure Analysis Services.

The appropriate licenses for both are correct. also the onpremise gateway i configured properly and up and running.
Still receiving the message host is unknown. and then receiving a message to enter a servername and credentials. Because server is located on Azure what do i have to fill in there?

Thanks for your reaction, These settings are correct.
It looks like that when i want to analyse in excel that the connection is going trough the on premise gateway.
Is it possible to make a connection online to the semantic models?
Hi @jvanveelen , \
1. Check with your admin if the below option is enabled in your tenant.
2. Please check if yave you have signed using your current client credetianls in your excel workbook.
Thanks,

It looks when from for example excel you open the analyse to excel that it's not possible to connect to the model. I see the workspaces. i'm unable to connect to the on premise gateway, or live connection.
Could it be also a license problem perhaps?
