column of figures used in field parameter not populating on graph

Is there a reason why a column of data, used in a field parameter, will no show any value/data/columns/lines on a graph?

It will populate the same column of data if it is put into the graph on its own, outside a field parameter.

It will also work in the field parameter as a measure. A simple measure such as SUMX(table1,column1).
