Whether from PowerQuery in Excel 2016 or PowerBI Desktop I cannot seem to connect to Active Directory which is an Azure AD synced with our on-prem directory. It simply says an unexpected error occurred when querying Active Directory.
...Sure would like to use this feature. Any suggestions?
I've tried logging in with two different accounts, both sysadmin privileges.
third party AAD isn't supported by PQ/PBI yet. This is a limitaion on the AAD side, and when they update their authentication support, we can definitely pick up support there.
It's interesting that you are getting a generic "unexpected error". Would you mind capturing some fiddler trace when this happens and send it to me (pqian at microsoft dot com)
