Whether from PowerQuery in Excel 2016 or PowerBI Desktop I cannot seem to connect to Active Directory which is an Azure AD synced with our on-prem directory. It simply says an unexpected error occur...
third party AAD isn't supported by PQ/PBI yet. This is a limitaion on the AAD side, and when they update their authentication support, we can definitely pick up support there.
It's interesting that you are getting a generic "unexpected error". Would you mind capturing some fiddler trace when this happens and send it to me (pqian at microsoft dot com)
