Hi guys,
I am wondering and I want to simply understand - why are not values grouped by default in visualization tables?
I have e.g. these values:
Keyword Impressions
+credit +attorneys 3
+credit +attorneys 5
+credit +attorneys 11
+credit +attorneys 12
+credit +attorneys 16
+credit +attorneys 20
+credit +attorneys 65
+credit +attorneys 181
+credit +attorneys 203
+credit +attorneys 231
+credit +attorneys 285
+credit +attorneys 322
+credit +attorneys 340
+credit +attorneys 344
+credit +attorneys 346
+credit +attorneys 349
+credit +attorneys 356
+credit +attorneys 358
+credit +attorneys 361
+credit +attorneys 363
+credit +attorneys 371
+credit +attorneys 382
+credit +attorneys 383
+credit +attorneys 396
+credit +attorneys 398
+credit +attorneys 403
+credit +attorneys 412
+credit +attorneys 427
+credit +attorneys 433
+credit +attorneys 595
This is just one of the unique values from Top N table and I cant see why it is not grouped by default like in a pivot table.
Writing a formula for this basis task so cumbersome. 😞
Of course, I can do group by in Power Query first and then build the visualized table based on this query but that is kind of lame... I just want to have 1 dateset and grouped everything automatically in tables based on columns/rows I drop there. Basically, like in a pivot table.

Hi @danzrust,
In Power BI Desktop, you should be able to how Power BI summarizes the data by selecting the Default Summarization icon to change how a field is summarized, including displaying a sum, a count, or an average. Then values will be grouped by default in visualization tables.
For more details, you can refer to the following articles.
Customize Visuals with Summarization and Category Options

Okay, I am retarded.
For some reason tough, it is greyed out for me. I had to do it via summarizing metrics.
Previously, I was just freaking out why a dimension cannot be summed up 🙂
