Visualization for Text Responses

Hi all,

I'm brand new to Power BI but excited to learn and hope to do great things. (I apoligize in advance if I use incorrect terminology or provide unnexessary details). My agency currently deploys surveys at the end of each of our classes; reports which I can pull in Excel so use that as my data source. The questions vary between numerical rating scale and open-ended responses. We also use the Kirkpatrick Four Levels of Training as a base for our survey, so I have several queries/tables so far: one for demographics and one for each Kirkpatrick level. I was able to get the demographic visualizations done without an issue because they were all numerical responses and worked well with pie and bar charts. The others, however, are a mix of numerical numbers and text responses, and I can't figure out the best visualization to use to capture all this data.

For example, my Level 1 table contains answers from 17 respondents. There are eight questions with numerical responses (i.e. "I would recommend this course to others" on a scale of 1-5) and four with text responses (i.e. "What aspect of the course was most valuable to you?")

How can I get one visualization that captures all 12 of these questions and their varied response formats?

Hi @Anonymous ,

The point of "I would recommend this course to others" on a scale of 1-5 is the value of this scale. Splitting numbers in Power Query and displaying them in a bar chart is the best way.

Split columns by delimiter - Power Query | Microsoft Docs

For the text responses, Word Cloud is recommended.
