I'm trying to import the Text Filter visual from the marketplace but I get this popup. I've deleted the visual, closed out of power bi, reopen, and I still get this message when I try to open this visual. If I click update it says that it was successful even though nothing happens. Before and after I "update" I don't have a text filter visual on my report.
Any idea what's going on with this?

@edhans I'm new to power bi sorry. I just realized I was understanding how to add a custom visual wrong and it was working as intended.
What happens if you click "update?"

MCSA: BI ReportingSorry I should have said. If I click update it says the visual was successfully imported but nothing appears. Currently I have no text filter visual on my report so I'm not sure what it's updating.
If not done. Just restart powerbi once and check. Means close all open windows of power bi and open again.
Also check you are on latest version and that visual works on lastest version.
Custom Visuals are found in a separate group under the Visualizations section/pane. Text Filter visual appears as a magnifier, what do you see under the Visualizations on your Power BI Desktop?
Hi @Anonymous ,
Have you updated desktop to the latest version? If so ,try to close it by "Task manager",then reopen it .
Best Regards,
Kelly
Good morning. I already tried to close and reopen it twice, today is the third time since the issue. It says I'm on Version 2.70.5494.761 (June 2019)
I just upgraded to Version 2.76.5678.782 December 2019 and I'm still having the same issue.
At this point I'd be inclined to contact support. The steps I'd take are:
EDIT: another possibility. If you are on Windows 10, switch from the store version to the downloadable install, or vice versa. You should still contact support to get this resolved, but at least you will be able to get to work with the other version. If you are on Windows 7, you cannot do this.

MCSA: BI ReportingI tried reinstalling and it didn't fix it. I've tried it with multiple reports and even a blank report with no success. I've been using the downloaded version, can't switch to store version because company has the store blocked.
I suppose the only option now is for me to open a ticket?
Probably, but do want to confirm, you uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled. Not just simply downloaded and reran the installer over the current version.
If that fails, then yeah, a ticket. There is something on your PC that Power BI Desktop didn't properly clean up and is causing a conflict.

MCSA: BI ReportingYes that is correct, even tried doing it twice.

Great! Glad you got it working.
