Vertical display of values in a Matrix visualization

In Excel pivot tables, when there are multiple Values to be aggregated, you can have those results displayed either displayed horizontally or vertically under each Column value.  In BI's Matrix visualizaiton, I can certainly achieve the horizontal display - but can I achieve the vertical display?  This vertical display is very useful in certain analyzes.  Examples are below.

Have you tried Format-->Values-->Show on Rows?
