I was given a semantic model and told to make a new report with some of the data from the old model's data and some new data. So, I made a downstream semantic model off of the original and then added the extra data that was needed. The original data was being stored by DirectQuery so I assumed that this would be fine for the new data that I was importing. I am nw being told that the data should be stored via import and need to know how to accomplish this. I have chaged the original data set to use import but the other hasn't changed those original tables, so I'm not sure whether that's the right way to go about it or not?
This flag shows up when I try to view the report in Service so I am assuming that the two problems are related.
Here is what the model view looks like:
The darker blue headers are the pior data tables
Finally, here's what the original relationships from the upstream table now looks like now that it's been switched to import:

Hi @Anonymous , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.
Open your downstream model in Power BI Desktop and remove any tables that were imported from the upstream model. Then, reconnect directly to the original data source, choose Import mode and bring in only the tables you need. Recreate relationships and measures if needed. This removes the hidden dependency on the upstream model and ensures everything runs in full Import mode.
Once you've republished the updated model, go to Power BI Service -> Dataset settings and update your data source credentials. If the source is on-premises or behind a firewall, configure the correct gateway as well. Finally, refresh the dataset and verify that all tables in Model View show “Import” under storage mode.
If this helped solve the issue, please consider marking it “Accept as Solution” and giving a ‘Kudos’ so others with similar queries may find it more easily. If not, please share the details, always happy to help.
Thank you.

It looks like that's working really well! Thank you so much for the help!!
