Upstream Datahub Change Effects
Hi Anonymous , Thank you for reaching out to the Microsoft Community Forum.
Open your downstream model in Power BI Desktop and remove any tables that were imported from the upstream model. Then, reconnect directly to the original data source, choose Import mode and bring in only the tables you need. Recreate relationships and measures if needed. This removes the hidden dependency on the upstream model and ensures everything runs in full Import mode.
Once you've republished the updated model, go to Power BI Service -> Dataset settings and update your data source credentials. If the source is on-premises or behind a firewall, configure the correct gateway as well. Finally, refresh the dataset and verify that all tables in Model View show “Import” under storage mode.
If this helped solve the issue, please consider marking it “Accept as Solution” and giving a ‘Kudos’ so others with similar queries may find it more easily. If not, please share the details, always happy to help.
Thank you.
